Whitney Pitkanen joins XPRIZE with over 20 years of experience as a Senior Sustainability Analyst working in critical climate change issues, including ESG, clean tech/transportation/energy, and shared mobility. Her expertise includes policy and communications campaigns, assessing emerging technologies and growth opportunities, and building strategic stakeholder partnerships. She has worked extensively in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, spearheading environmental initiatives for employers ranging from Stanford University to the Federal Transit Administration.

She earned a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) focused on Environmental Law/Policy from Tulane University Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from U.C. Berkeley. In her free time, she enjoys roller skating on the strand and hiking in the mountains with her two daughters Sofia and Eden and their dog Cloudy.
