Patrick McGarey, Ph.D., is an expert in planetary exploration robotics and has been developing systems to explore extremely challenging terrains for the last decade. Dr. McGarey received his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto, where he was a visiting Fulbright Scholar studying robotics for mapping outdoor, unstructured environments. At NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab, Dr. McGarey has worked on the development of a variety of mobility systems for the Moon, Mars, and icy bodies of the solar system. Currently, Dr. McGarey is exploring how to deploy extremely large antennas for sensing the subsurface of Earth's Moon.
