At the GCF Task Force, Michelle coordinated the Annual Meetings in Manaus (Brazil), San Francisco (USA) and Caquetá (Colombia), and the official side events at COP23 in Bonn (Germany), COP24 in Katowice (Poland) COP 25 in Madrid (Spain) and COP 26 in Glasgow (Scotland). Prior to joining the GCF Task Force, Michelle worked as a Director of Projects at Strategy XXI in New York City, where she assisted Brazilian and U.S businesses, government, and non-governmental organizations in building networks and partnerships, developing public relation strategies, and raising brand visibility. For the past ten years, Michelle has been part of the coordinating team for the Person of the Year Awards Gala Dinner, an event organized by the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce honoring two outstanding leaders – one Brazilian and one American – who have been particularly instrumental in forging closer ties between the two nations. She has also worked at the Special Unit for South-South Cooperation at UNDP, and was an intern at the UNESCO liaison office in New York City, while pursuing her Masters in Arts and Public Policy at New York University.
Michelle is a native Portuguese speaker and is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish. Originally from Curitiba, Brazil, she has lived in New York City and Abu Dhabi before moving to Boulder with her husband and two kids.
