In 2011, Laura founded Ground Control, a peer-to-peer harm reduction program for Insomniac music festivals, a subsidiary of Live Nation. She supported the development of Insomniac Cares and nationwide safety standards for mass gathering events. Throughout the years, Ground Control’s first responders have assisted thousands of festival-goers and saved hundreds of lives.
Following Insomniac, Laura directed a team of 200+ physicians, registered nurses, dispatchers, paramedics and EMTs for Emergency-1 Response dba Evolve EMS – The leading event medical services provider in Southern California. During her time with the company, she streamlined operations and implemented improvements to support overall growth, revenue, and relations with 500+ clients.
Laura returned to non-profit in 2020 at the American Cancer Society, working with high level donors and corporate gifts as the Sr. Manager of Corporate Relations for Los Angeles. She launched regional and national fundraisers and leveraged networks to create equity-focused cancer prevention campaigns.
She is eager to combine all her skills and experience to support Advancement at XPRIZE. Laura stays true to her roots and her love for music festivals, along with traveling, hiking, and sailing.
