Dr. Denneal Jamison-McClung
directs the UC Davis Biotechnology Program and is cofounder of the UC Davis Cultivated Meat Consortium. She is a science educator focused on promoting translational research and interdisciplinary graduate training in the life sciences and engineering, as well as fostering science literacy across diverse segments of society. Dr. Jamison-McClung is active in promoting diversity, equity and inclusion of women and underrepresented groups in science and engineering, co-leading several academic programs in this area.
As a science communicator with expertise in emerging agricultural technologies and global food security, Dr. Jamison-McClung interacts with international scientists, policy makers, media outlets, corporate and community groups. She has a background in plant molecular biology, genetic engineering and informatics, earning a BS in Biological Sciences and PhD in Genetics with a Designated Emphasis in Biotechnology from the University of California, Davis.
